The area was up on a hill and had many shaded area making the overall tones darker. There were a variety of tree and also there is a river that runs close to the edge of the paintings image. The background is more tree blurred by the distance. There is a mulch path in the middle of the woods, put down because students had naturally made a path there over time, thus the school put mulch down to make it a more real path.*
